Data center
The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems in the world. We’re diverse, upbeat, creative, team-oriented engineers and managers working on a daily basis to develop data centers that are changing the face of contemporary computing facilities.
We currently have openings in the following data centers:
Engineering management
Google’s engineering teams exhibit high energy, well-honed technical skills, and a drive to get things done. Our Engineering Managers need to be technical leaders and motivators who are comfortable leading these teams in a high-pressure, dynamic – and global – environment. Jobs are broadly defined and interact with Product Management, Sales, and other groups at Google.
There are a wide variety of positions for all levels of experience, ranging from managing 10 person teams to managing 500 person organizations.
Hardware operations
Google’s Hardware Operations team consists of diverse, upbeat, creative, team-oriented engineers and managers who design and operate some of the most sophisticated systems in the world. This fast-growing group develops, builds, and supports the physical infrastructure behind Google’s products.
Intranet
Google’s intranet team drives the development of our vast and ever-evolving intranet, the company’s key resource for sharing and disseminating information. Our team of technical developers and user interface designers works on a range of core internal applications and sites. Specifically, we design and build central intranet resources and templates, identify opportunities to create new tools for Google employees, and partner with employees across the company. We’re dedicated to improving our colleagues’ productivity and their access to internal information, as our intranet is the ultimate repository of all of the shared knowledge that enables Google products to come into existence.
Operations and IT
In little more than a decade, Google created one of the world’s largest global computing infrastructures for both internal and external use. We built it – and will continue to develop and support it – with the world’s most talented administrators. Chances are that we exceed every example of a “large installation” you’ve encountered in your career as a network, systems, or security professional. Using our unique technologies along with open-source tools, we keep Google’s customer-facing products running, robust, and secure. Our objective is to create solutions that allow people to work and communicate in new and innovative ways – giving back to the world’s technical community whenever we can.
Partner solutions
Google’s Partner Solutions Organization (PSO) is a technology group dedicated to developing and managing the company’s largest and most strategic partnerships.
Our multi-faceted professionals work on the full range of Google products with groups from all over the company to help bring exciting new products to market.
Technical writing
Technical writers take complex technical information and communicate it in a lucid, concise, and accurate manner. Our responsibilities include writing documentation for internal and external developers, for operations, and internal applications. We look for talented writers who are passionate about writing, quick to learn, highly technical, and eager to become part of the engineering and operations teams.
Webmaster
Google’s Webmasters develop and maintain Google’s global Web sites, which are seen by millions of users everyday. We balance our technical and design skills to create clean, effective Web pages, automation tools, and graphical illustrations for product launches and marketing initiatives.
